Then the hospitality industry is for you. Humber’s Hospitality - Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management diploma program is a leader in hospitality management training. You will develop your business management skills via hands-on learning, theoretical classes and practical labs led by industry experts. Enhance your resumé with industry certifications such as service excellence, food safety, responsible alcohol beverage service, and wine and beer knowledge. Learn state-of-the-art software applications including Micros: Opera, the premier hotel management system software and leading restaurant point-of-sale system. Embark on a 12-week industry placement providing you with on-the-job experience and industry contacts. Gain valuable instruction and guidance from faculty with extensive industry experience in concepts such as marketing and sales, leadership management, and sustainability Note: A fast-track program is implemented for the January start. The first semester (January to April) is immediately followed by the second semester (May to July), resulting in a shorter summer break. The third semester begins in September, allowing students to complete the two-year program in just 16 months. Students participate in a work placement with a hospitality organization that takes place in the fourth semester. Our internship co-ordinator provides direction and assistance for each student in securing a placement. With over 9,000 hotels and 72,000 restaurants operating in Canada alone, the possibilities are endless for a career in the hospitality industry. Tourism HR Canada projects that the potential labour shortage in the industry in Canada could reach to more than 228,000 full-year jobs by 2030. Hotels, restaurants, resorts, casinos, cruiseships, convention centres, attractions and catering companies in Canada and around the world hire our graduates in positions such as: Hotel general managers Restaurant managers Directors of food and beverage Directors of sales and marketing Directors of human resources Conference and event managers. Note: If a student applies for conditional acceptance but later decides to take their IELTS/TOEFL, they will need to reapply and submit a new application.
